Certifications

ECAS is a Product Certification scheme for government-regulated products as mandated by the Federal Law 28 of 2001.

Under this scheme, all regulated products must meet the requirements for safety and quality specified in the Technical Regulations adopted by the UAE government.

Suppliers must register the products and obtain Certificate of Conformity prior in order to sell inside the UAE.

-A proof that the product has been approved by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).
-One of the documents required when clearing shipments from Ports and Customs Authorities.

The (EQM) is a mark of conformity granted to the products that can demonstrate compliance with the relevant UAE National Standards, Regional and/or International Standards and are manufactured by an organization implementing an effective Quality Management System to ensure continuous compliance. The process of achieving the license to use the Emirates Quality Mark involves a comprehensive evaluation of the product as well as the quality system used by the manufacturer in production through auditing, testing and inspection.
“SABER ” is an electronic service used to issue certificates of conformity for products conforming with Saudi standards and specifications, in order to facilitate importation of goods and limit the non-conforming products. “SABER ” service connects suppliers and traders with legal representatives of approved conformity authorities to issue certificates of conformity for the products that will be sold in the Saudi market, whether they are imported or locally manufactured.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is the Regulatory Authority in KSA ensuring safety of food, drug for human and animal, biological and chemical substance as well as electronic devices that are related to human health.

Here are some common questions about selling on Shop the Twist

How do fees work on Shop the Twist?

Joining and starting a shop on Shop the Twist is free. There are three basic selling fees: a listing fee, a transaction fee, and a payment processing fee.

It costs nothing to publish a listing to the marketplace. A listing lasts for four months or until the item is sold. Once an item sells, there is a 3.5% transaction fee on the sale price (not including shipping costs). If you accept payments with bank transfers or PayPal, there is also a payment processing fee based on their fee structure.

Commissions are billed in AED, so if your bank’s currency is not AED, the amount may differ based on changes in the exchange rate.

What do I need to do to create a shop?

It’s easy to set up a shop on Shop the Twist. Create a Shop the Twist Vendor account (if you don’t already have one), set your shop location and currency, choose a shop name, create a listing, set a payment method (how you want to be paid), and finally set a billing method (how you want to pay your Shop the Twist fees).

How do I get paid?

If you accept payments with bank accounts and PayPal, funds from bank accounts and PayPal sales on Shop the wist will be deposited into your Bank account or PayPal account. We encourage sellers to use a Bank Account/PayPal Business account and not a Personal account, as personal accounts are subject to monthly receiving limits and cannot accept payments from buyers that are funded by a credit card.

Do I need a credit or debit card to create a shop?

No, a credit or debit card is not required to create a shop. To be verified as a vendor you have the choice to use either a credit card or to register via Bank Account or PayPal. You will not incur any charges until you open your shop and publish your listings.

What can I sell on Martfury?

Shop the Twist provides a marketplace for crafters, artists and collectors to sell their handmade creations, vintage goods (at least 20 years old), and both handmade and non-handmade crafting supplies.
